I can say without any hesitation that Il Viaggio's organisation of my family's trip was essentially flawless. You showed great attention to detail and proved the value of using a ground handler, particularly as first time visitors to Costa Rica. We greatly appreciated the level of personal attention and thoughtfulness (for example greeting, level of detail on the itinerary, provision of mobile phone and follow up during the visit). And you provided excellent value for money. I had put together a notional independent itinerary and, particularly taking into account the value of the excursions, you clearly have some good negotiated rates! In addition we discovered wonderful places that we would not have otherwise encountered. The only substantial issue we had was regarding the size of the room in Tamarindo. In the other hotels (except Arenal) we had two rooms, all of which were very spacious. In Tamarindo we were squashed into one that was realtively compact. However, we do understand the situation with a resort hotel in peak season and this did not detract from our experience of Il Viaggio or Costa Rica in any meaningful way. Il Viaggio answers emails very promptly, goes out of their way to build an itinerary that meets your needs and budget. Guide and driver supplied by the agency were outstanding. Having a good driver on the mountain roads we traversed was a great relief and value. I recommend meal planning include more comida tipica rather than meals at resort hotels. One gets a better understanding of the country that way (and better food also). Development is coming fast to the areas we visited; too much, too fast.
