| DAY 1 |

We will pick you up at your hotel in San José and will transfer you for about 20 to 40 minutes to the Pavas Airport . From here you will fly for one hour to Carate Airstrip, about a mile southeast of Corcovado Lodge. Upon arrival, you will walk 30 minutes with a Naturalist Guide towards the Lodge (luggage will be transported by the Lodge in horse-cart). The afternoon will be free for you to enjoy hiking in the Corcovado Lodge Preserve and/or Corcovado National Park .

| DAY 2 |
|
After breakfast take a guided tour into the surrounding forests. You may choose one of six different tours, including a trip to our 120-ft-high tree platform in the rainforest canopy. Other tours include a full- or half-day hike or bird watching in the surrounding forests.Dinner and overnight at Corcovado Lodge. (B,L,D) |
| DAY 3 |
Either early in the morning or at mid-day (depending on tides*), return to San José . Transfer to hotel in San José . (B) |
*Flight times depend on the tide, as the walk from Carate to Corcovado Lodge (and vice versa) is on the beach. Walking at high tide can be difficult, as the waves will be washing in over your feet. By programming our flights two hours before/after the high tide, we avoid this difficulty. |

- For extra days of the package there are no discounts for lodging due to the bedding configuration in the tents (two single beds with no room for a third bed)
